Father Jeff comments on the Letter by Pope Francis about sexual abuse in the church and its cover up. He points out how we have the tools to dismantle systems of domination and power that allow this abuse to occur.

The Other

Rev. Eric Heidecker talks about how we create the other to be less than human while our mission is to bring others into the household of God. The sermon ends with this Episcopal collect (prayer) included below:

O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us
through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole
human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which
infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us;
unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and
confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in
your good time, all nations and races may serve you in
harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.

Second Circle of Kin
