The Very Rev. Jeffrey Paul, Rector
Jeff was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, of Polish Catholic descent. He moved to southern California to begin high school, completed his B.S. in psychology and sociology at Cal State Fullerton while working as a community organizer. After matriculating, the first of his four children was born. A few years later, it was off to graduate school in Berkeley, California, where he earned his Masters of Divinity at Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP).
He served three churches in the Diocese of Los Angeles – St. James’ Wilshire, St. Andrew’s Torrance, and St. Paul’s Ventura – as an assistant and day school chaplain; rector; and associate for youth and young adults, respectively. In the late 1980’s, he traveled the country to various dioceses as a consultant for the National Episcopal Church in Young Adult Ministries.
In the mid-90’s, he was invited to serve as Rector of St Peter’s. He’s been here ever since. All four of his kids left Carson City upon high school graduation, screaming at the top of their lungs. They have since returned in various states – single, attached, married – and have graced the family with soon-to-be five grandchildren. He is living in wedded bliss with Marietta Sophie Paul.
The Rev. Deacon Betty Bianchi
After serving for many years at St. Bartholomew’s in Ely, Nevada, Deacon Betty moved to Carson City to be closer to her adult children and grandchildren. Thank God! She is a blessing to the people of St. Peter’s and this community.
In her role as Deacon, Betty is a servant-leader who notices the needs of the world, recognizes the gifts and callings of those inside the church, and connects the two. By doing so, Betty reminds us that by loving and serving our neighbors in need, we are channeling God’s Grace into this world.
